BACKGROUND

Michelle was born in Truckee, CA and has been skiing since the age of just 18 months old. She began racing competitively at the age of 6 and competed in the Junior Olympics at ages 13 and 14, before turning professional at age 15.

During the 2007-2008 season, Michelle focused on filming and skiing in the back country. During the same time frame, Michelle spent 3 weeks in Haines, Alaska taking a guide school course. There she earned her Avalanche Level 1 to gain essential rescue and decision-making skills as well as her WAFA medical certification, both required to operate in high angle and glaciated terrain.

Recently, Orage launched the first ever Michelle Parker signature line of outerwear, sold in 11 markets worldwide.

During the 2008-2009 season, Michelle filmed for Match Stick Productions, competing in the major slopestyle competitions and honing her backcountry and big mountain skills.

Michelle is a supporter of Alpine Initiatives, a non-profit charity started within the ski industry as a platform to give the snow sports community an opportunity to get together and work on various projects that will have a broader positive impact.

When she’s not skiing, Michelle enjoys mountain biking, climbing, soccer, yoga, golf, cooking, photography, making jewelry, and painting.
