On this particular morning, Sheila Taormina woke up at 5:30 am. Before lunch, she had time to swim 4,500 meters, take a one-hour riding lesson and run 7.5 miles in the hills above her training facility. After taking the time to chat on her drive home, she planned on an afternoon shooting session in her garage before practicing point control with the epee fencing weapon. (read more)

It’s a Dream Team of a different kind.
Come Monday, the Copper Country will get a visit from five female Olympians hoping to inspire future athletes and others to achieve their own dreams.
During their stay Sunday and Monday, the athletes will meet with schoolchildren in Calumet and Houghton, and will host public presentations and sports (read more)
