Fisher’s Comeback is Summit Daily News’s “Story of the Year”

A year ago at this time, Steve Fisher’s name was practically forgotten in the world of pro snowboarding. The Breckenridge local won the 2004 X Games superpipe contest then failed to qualify for the final round both of the next two years. Fisher reclaimed fame in January by winning the X Games gold medal, which is why his comeback has been deemed our top local sports story of the year. (read more)

Steve Fisher Added to Bula Snowboarding Team

Bula, the largest snow sports accessory brand in North America has attracted one of snowboarding’s top talents to its growing team roster - 2007 X-Games Halfpipe Champion Steve Fisher. Fisher will wear custom Bula headwear during competition and promotional appearances and his limited edition Bula pro model will also be available to consumers at retail for the 2008 – 2009 retail season. Bleiler and Fisher Take First and Second at Breckenridge Grand Prix

For a fresh start, this felt like old times. Local Olympic silver medalist Gretchen Bleiler and X-Games gold medalist Steve Fisher took podium spots Saturday as the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix kicked off at Breckenridge. Bleiler linked together a run featuring her trademark crippler, a frontside alley-oop, frontside 540 truck driver, a backside 540 and a frontside 900 for her winning score of 45.3. (read more)
